Brief Life History of Ken Starr before Death

Ken Starr, Vernon Texas born in 1946, who is well known to be the son of a Congregationalist minister and who has also excelled at school, graduated with a bachelor’s of history from George Washington University in 1968.

Starr went ahead to obtain a master’s degree from Brown University the year after his B.Sc in history. Then in the early 1970s, Starr attended the Duke University Law School, where he edited the institution’s law journal.

Afterwards been a  graduate from Duke Law in 1973, Starr clerked for a federal appellate court judge. His  experience led him to a two-year clerkship with Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger between 1975 and 1977.

In the year 1983, at the age of 37, He was nominated by the then President, Donald Reagan to serve on the United States District Court of Appeals. He served as a judge until 1989 when he was appointed to serve as Solicitor General by President George H.W. Bush.

He represented the federal government in front of the Supreme Court on a bevy of matters. Then In 1990,Starr was considered a front-runner to replace Associate Justice William Brennan on the Supreme Court. President George Bush then opted instead to appoint David Souter after concerns emerged that Starr might not be conservative enough.

After President George Bush lost reelection in 1992 to President Clinton,  Ken Starr ventured into private practice, where he joined the firm of Kirkland & Ellis. While serving in the firm of Ellis and Kirkland a special three-judge panel appointed him to oversee the Whitewater affair in August 1994.

So during his administration the probe grew to include hundreds of staffers — costing taxpayers more than $52 million over a six-year time span. It later resulted in more than two dozen indictments, a dozen convictions, and Clinton’s impeachment which eventual acquittal for allegedly lying and obstructing justice.

Ken Starr who happened to be the former U.S. Circuit Court Judge on pro-choice activists targeting justices’ homes after Supreme Court draft opinion on Roe v. Wade leaked.

As a venerated lawyer and Republican operative, Starr best known for his role as the independent counsel in the Whitewater affair. He was later appointed in 1994 to probe a shadowy land deal involving President Bill Clinton’s tenure as governor of Arkansas

According to report by his family, Ken Starr death is recorded in Houston today at the age of 76 from complications from surgery

Starr who is the son of the deceased stated that the entire family are deeply saddened with the loss of our dear and loving Father and Grandfather, that they admired him so much for his prodigious work ethic, but who always put his family first,”The love, energy, endearing sense of humor, and fun-loving interest Dad exhibited to each one of us was indeed special, and we will forever cherish the many wonderful memories we were able to experience with him. We solemnly believe that he is now with his Lord and Savior.”

Remember In 2010, Starr was made the president of Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Been the overall, Starr supervised the opening of the university’s $250 million football stadium. During Starr’s administration the University experienced prioritized expanding academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities for students.

However, Starr’s tenure at the helm of the school was not without blemish, as his tenure went on he had to  resign from the position in 2016 over the criticism of sexual assaults surrounding the university’s campus.

According to Baylor President Starr In his statement, “I didn’t know about what was happening, but I have to resign, and I willingly do accepted responsibility just for peace to reign”.

In year 2020, Starr emerged as a defensive for President Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial and the great move brought him full circle.

According to him the Congressional Democrats  pushed him to take the job because of the politicization of the impeachment process for President  Donald Trump

Above all is disheartening to know that legendary Ken Starr will be buried at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin.
