The Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, RT. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has currently approved the immediate employment of the following categories of Medical staff into the thirteen (13) General hospitals in the state in the ongoing Ebonyi state civil service recruitment.
Below are the Categories, Ranks and Qualifications needed for the ongoing recruitment in the Ebonyi state civil service commission.

Positions Available for the Ebonyi State Civil Service Recruitment 2023
Category A: Medical Officer
Job Description
The medical officer is of the duty to ensure that patient’s optimum health is restored and also he/she is of the responsibility to perform health assessments, provide health and wellness advice to patients, run diagnostic test, prescribe medication and create treatment plans
Qualifications
Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine with a first or second class position and from registrable medical and dental council of Nigeria (MDCN) from a recognised institution
Applicants must also possess not less than 2 years of working experience as a medical officer from a recognised hospital

Category B: Nursing Officer
Job Description
The nursing officer works in hospitals, clinics, or rehabilitation centers or with government agencies to set patient care standards, establish processes and protocols for achieving those standards, and manage the work of nurses who care for patients to ensure good and sound corporation between nurses and patients.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma certificate in nursing in addition to having been registered with the Nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria (NMCN)
Applicants must also possess not less than 2 years of working experience as a chief nurse from a recognised hospital
Category C: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Job Description
It is the duty of a medical laboratory scientist to analyze a variety of biological specimens
He/she is also of the duty to perform scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians.
Shall receive urine, blood or other samples for experimentation and analysis from patients.
Shall ensure to prepare standard volumetric solutions or reagents to be combined with specimens inorder to attain a perfect test result.
Must ensure to manage and operate laboratory equipment, test and study blood, urine and other body fluids to ascertain the exact illness patient suffers from.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma certificate in Medical Lab, in addition to having been registered with the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria (MLCN)
Applicants must possess at least 2 years working experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from a recognised hospital
Category D: Pharmacist
Job Description
Applicants are required to always fill the prescriptions, dispense pharmaceuticals, consults with clients regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and/or supervises personnel.
He/she shall perform adequate routine quality control testing procedures; prepares and maintains all necessary records required by federal, state and local regulations.
The role holder shall ensure that the quality of medicines supplied to patients is according to prescription thereby ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law.
Role Holder must ensure to always render good advises to patients about medicines; without to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients’ questions.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma certificate in Medical Lab, in addition to having been registered with the Pharmacist Registration Board of Nigeria (PRBN)
Applicants must possess at least 2 years working experience as a Pharmacist from a recognised hospital
Category E: Health Assistant
Job Description
Applicants are expected to always wash and dress patients, as well as to serve meals and help to feed patients.
Role holder should endeavour to always make patients feel comfortable.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess WAEC/GCE/NECO with National certificate for Health.
Applicants must possess at least 2 years working experience from a recognised hospital
