  • To construct 2 Nos toll plaza’s with shopping arcade
  • To adopt a maintenance programme and capacity building for project staff
  • To construct pedestrian bridges
  • To construct social development initiatives including  schools, water points, health facilities and markets
  • To dualize the carriageway by 82km with interchange at Minna and Bida terminals

Objective of the Project

The main objective of the project is to provide professional advice and management support to the SPUM in order for them to effectively implement the project. Also for these objective to be achieved, the SPMU staff shall carry-out broad scope of the project management activities

Duties

The duties expected of the Project Engineer by Niger State Government jobs includes:

  • Ability to Monitor the day-to-day intervention site designs and construction activities
  • Ability to prepare ToRs and recruit engineering design and supervision form as the case may be
  • Should always report on the progress of works

  • He shall always review monitoring reports, analyse them for impact evaluation and identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementations

  • Ability to develop procurement tools, such as standard format for terms of reference, technical specifications, customised contracts for staff and other individual consultants
  • He shall be administratively responsible to the project coordinator
  • Ability to manage the project procurement through implementing all policies and procedures related to procurement activities and ensure that the procurement guidelines and provisions are followed in all the project transactions
  • Ability to understudy the procurement consultant with a view to eventually takeover after the 24 month contract duration
  • Shall post specific procurement notices and requests for expression of interest (EOD) for goods and consulting services respectively. As well, shall undertake necessary advertisement on annual and periodic basis.
