To win the AFC West, the Chiefs defeated the Chargers with a walk-off field goal.

We managed to win,

Kansas City, Missouri On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC West for the ninth time in a row, but this was unlike any of the previous eight

As has been the case thus far in this most peculiar of seasons, the 12-1 Chiefs made the play to win the game when it came down to the final seconds. As time ran out, the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 19–17 thanks to a 31-yard field goal from third-string kicker Matthew Wright, who replaced two injured players.

As they normally do after winning the division, the Chiefs then donned their AFC West championship hats and T-shirts. Nothing about it felt familiar except that. It’s possible that the Chiefs will face the Chargers or another division foe.

“Winning the AFC West is our top priority every year, and it’s a fantastic division,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes stated. Everybody has played each other hard in our many rivalries, and three teams are most likely to qualify for the playoffs. That illustrates the division in which we operate.

“For us, the game was crucial. We managed to win, but if we want to reach our ultimate objective, we must now continue to build.

Prior to Super Bowl LIX, which will take place in New Orleans, the Chiefs hope to secure the AFC’s top playoff seed, which entitles them to a first-round playoff bye and home-field advantage in every postseason game.

The Chiefs are in the lead.  Andy Reid, the coach of the Chiefs, referred to the team’s ninth consecutive division championship as “a great achievement.” After the New England Patriots’ 11 AFC East titles from 2009 to 2019, the stretch is the second-longest in NFL history.

“We still have [four] games left because it’s early in the season here,” Reid stated. “When I say this, I don’t mean that we’re just going to set up the tent here and call it a day. We must continue to play and play with aggression.

“We must continue to perform because we are playing some excellent football teams that are vying for a spot in the playoffs, so they will be hungry and aggressive.”

It was the sixth victory versus the Chargers.
