Victor Osimhen confirms the £63 million January transfer possibility and delivers a fresh message to Chelsea.

Victor Osimhen, a striker on loan from Napoli, is playing well ahead of a crucial January transfer window.

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli and Galatasaray, showed Chelsea his abilities on Sunday after scoring two goals in the Super Liga match against Kayserispor.

During the summer transfer window, Osimhen was negotiating with the Blues as Enzo Maresca looked for forwards who could compete with Nicolas Jackson. Napoli was a difficult negotiator, and on the day of the deadline, it appeared that the Nigerian might have to travel to Saudi Arabia as the Serie A team sought to obtain the highest possible price.

The 25-year-old, however, turned down the idea of relocating to the Middle East, and in the end, it was too late to set up a move to Stamford Bridge. It seemed like Osimhen would have to decay in the window as it closed over most of Europe.

Osimhen was fortunate to find refuge with Galatasaray, whose transfer window in Turkey ended later. The striker consented to a loan move for the rest of the season with the understanding that Napoli would lower their asking price to £62 million. If one of ten unidentified clubs were to match this amount in January, he would then be free to end the loan period early and look for a deal elsewhere.

Osimhen has however had a good time in Turkey and has scored ten goals in 14 games for his loan team. According to reports, Chelsea is among the 10 teams on the list, and Arsenal may also be evaluating their own wants for a center-forward.

Jackson has been scoring goals for fun so far this season, though, so the Blues might want to keep their money and put it somewhere else.
