Callum O’Hare scored an impressive first goal for Sheffield United in Tuesday evening’s pre-season fixture at Harrogate Town.
Andre Brooks, Owen Hampson and Louie Marsh (although Oliver Arblaster may have a claim) were also on target as the Blades made it three successive wins in friendlies so far.
Trialist Andre Dozzell, who came off the bench to score in Saturday’s win over Chesterfield, started in the midweek trip to North Yorkshire.
United took the lead after 11 minutes with BROOKS side-footing in a Slimane pull-back but the home side levelled on 23 minutes. March beat Robinson in the air and MULDOON ran from Sachdev before beating Grbic.
From then on until half-time, though, O’Hare controlled the game. He was a big threat in the Harrogate half, was fouled a number of times and he also regained the lead for United. On 35 minutes O’HARE set off on a run, played a one-two with Slimane before beating goalkeeper Oxley with an outstretched leg.
Shackleton, Boyes and Brewster went close to extending United’s lead, the latter striking a post, whilst Grbic saved from Thomson, before a third Blades goal arrived on 68 minutes. Arblaster nicked possession in midfield, Marsh threaded through a pass and HAMPSON scored his second of pre-season by slipping the ball through Oxley’s legs.
Moore had a header saved but United added a fourth in the final minute. Arblaster’s shot was deflected into the corner of the net by MARSH with the youngsters leaving the pitch having a friendly debate about who was the goalscorer.
