Ryan Lowe’s resolute position regarding possible Preston North End contract negotiations is “not at all.

Ryan Lowe is adamant about any prospective contract talks with Preston North End, saying, "Not at all."

Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe has contract talks on the back of his mind.

The Lilywhites are preparing for their third consecutive full season under Lowe and their fourth overall in 2024–25. Everything is focused on the August 9 opening night match at Deepdale vs Sheffield United. Additionally, PNE is working to finalise additional transfer business in the background.

Sam Greenwood and Stefan Teitur Thordarson are the two new players that North End has added so far this summer. Regarding the current team, many players have reached the last year of their Preston contracts. However, Lowe is not in a hurry to start talking to anyone about new terms.

“No, not at all,” responded Lowe. “It’s not necessary. As such, we must get started right now. We need to perform to the levels, but I’m not suggesting we’ll win the first five or six games. Since they understand, no one has come to my door to ask for something or the other.

In football, twelve months is a long time. A year is a long time to be under contract if that is the case. We will do well by you if you do well by me and the football team, which is what we have always done and kept to.

“I believe that all we need to do as a team is make sure the players meet the expectations. And if they meet the expectations, I believe Peter (Ridsdale) and the football team will be gracious enough to say, “Okay, well you have earned this, we will look after you.”
