‘Reject £175k transfer bid’ for Caolan Boyd-Munce from St Mirren

'Reject £175k transfer bid' for Caolan Boyd-Munce from St Mirren

A report claims that St Mirren turned down a £175k transfer offer for Caolan Boyd-Munce.

Leyton Orient of English League One is said to have made an offer for the Northern Ireland international on Tuesday.

However, St. Mirren officials, who are eager to keep Boyd-Munce’s contract in Paisley, have rejected the offer, which was first reported by Sky Sports.

The 24-year-old midfielder first signed with St Mirren in March of last year on a short-term contract, but an appearance-based condition in his agreement caused his contract to be extended.

Stephen Robinson considers midfielder Boyd-Munce to be a vital member of the team, and the midfielder is now under contract with the team through the summer of 2025.

Following his positive remarks about the St. Mirren setup, he also recently assisted in securing an agreement to sign Oisin Smyth from Oxford United.

Boyd-Munce did not play in St. Mirren’s friendly victory over Dunfermline on Saturday, but he might play in tonight’s meeting against rivals from Renfrewshire, Greenock Morton.

If not, he will play again on Wednesday against Airdrie in a friendly that is played behind closed doors.

Robinson gave the following explanation for his absence over the weekend: “He has blisters, which may not seem like much, but his entire foot is infected.

“I am familiar with them; I’ve had them previously, and they’re really challenging to play with.

“In a friendly, you don’t take any chances. He’ll return to the situation on Tuesday or Wednesday and be ready to proceed.”
