PSG ready to splash world-record €250m fee for non-transferable Barcelona wonderkid

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo.........

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have been informed that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are prepared to offer a record-breaking €250 million to acquire young talent Lamine Yamal.

PSG reportedly see Yamal as the ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Barcelona have firmly stated that Yamal is not for sale and that there will be no negotiations.

In an interview last March, Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed that the club had already rejected a €200 million offer for Yamal. It was later disclosed that this bid came from PSG, the same club now willing to increase their offer by €50 million, reaching €250 million.

This astonishing sum underscores the high regard for Yamal’s potential and talent in the market, with PSG considering him the perfect player to lead their team into a new era following Mbappe’s departure.

Despite PSG’s interest and their readiness to break their own record, Barcelona holds a strong position. Yamal’s contract includes a termination clause set at €1,000 million, established when he renewed his contract in October.

This contract binds him to Barcelona until 2026. However, since he is still a minor, he couldn’t sign a longer-term deal at that time. An agreement is already in place to extend his contract until 2031 once he is of age.

Yamal’s career trajectory at Barcelona is exceptional, and the club is keen to nurture his growth. Since making his debut for the first team at just 15 years old, Yamal has been given ample opportunities to showcase his talent.

Barcelona sees him as a crucial part of their future, especially with the reopening of Camp Nou. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is also aware of the bright future that lies ahead for his client at Barcelona.

In summary, while PSG is prepared to offer a record-breaking €250 million for Yamal, Barcelona has no intention of selling their young star. They have shown unwavering support for his development and view him as a key player for their future. Despite the immense financial offer from PSG, Barcelona’s message is clear: “Yamal is not for sale.”
