This season, the Philadelphia 76ers have been plagued by concerns about Joel Embiid’s conditioning. The Sixers are 7-15 so season, and the former league MVP has only appeared five times. However, things appear to be improving. The 76ers are 4-1 and have recently recovered their groove. However, in his return game against the Chicago Bulls, Embiid had his greatest performance of the season.
Due to knee swelling, Embiid missed multiple games; nonetheless, he contributed 31 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks in the victory over the Bulls. After the game, though, many Sixers supporters were curious to see how Embiid’s body would respond. Thankfully, there appears to be some positive news on that.
“Nick Nurse said Joel Embiid went through the full practice today and his body has responded well since playing 33 minutes on Sunday vs. Chicago,” Kyle Neubeck wrote on X on Wednesday. Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles will be thrilled about that. Embiid has undoubtedly been talked about a lot lately, and some people have even demanded that he be traded. However, when he is on the squad, the 76ers are unquestionably a better team. Embiid’s incessant battle to stay in shape is his only flaw. In order for him to enter the playoffs in good health, the Sixers appear to be trying to control his workload as much as possible during the regular season. Let’s see if that tactic is effective.
