Missing the NBA Cup knockout stage benefits the Celtics in a subtle way.

When the Celtics failed to qualify as the East’s wild card team last week, their hopes of winning the NBA Cup were effectively dashed. The Boston C’s themselves expressed their desire to travel to Las Vegas, but the elimination didn’t make much of an impression.

However, there is a little advantage to skipping the knockout stages: relaxation. In order to compensate for missing the NBA Cup, the C’s now have an 11-day stretch in which they only play two games. The C’s will host the Pistons on Thursday before traveling to play the Wizards on Sunday. Other than a few practices, that’s it for the week.

Following Saturday’s Grizzlies defeat, Jaylen Brown remarked, “It will be nice to have a few days off.” “The scheduling has been difficult. I don’t believe that tonight’s Celtics basketball performance was the best. Although it seems like we battled to the very end, I believe that tonight we put it behind us. We watch the movie and prepare for what’s next.
