Manchester United Top Target And Shocking Details Of The Contract

A new centre-back is understood to be high on the list of targets for Manchester United this summer, whilst the Red Devils could well be open to losing two centre-backs providing they can also bring two through the door themselves.

United have agreed personal terms with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite but the Toffees are sticking to their price tag which is in the same ballpark as Josko Gvardiol’s fee to Manchester City, and that was around £75 million.

As a result of this, the club could look to alternatives and one of these is OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a long time.

United ready to appeal to CAS to get deal done

HITC had exclusively revealed that United were continuing to work on a deal for the French defender, despite the Red Devils potentially not being able to purchase the 24-year-old because of Ineos’ multi-club ownership model.

Ineos, the petrochemical company, own United, OGC Nice and Swiss side FC Lausanne and this is a problem for the Red Devils if they want to sign any player from the French side, in particular.

UEFA’s regulations states that players cannot be transferred between clubs under the same ownership but the two sides can both compete in the same UEFA competition next season, which they will after both teams qualified for the Europa League.

United are now understood to be looking at their options and sources have told HITC that appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is one of the avenues they’re said to be considering.
