Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. However, it hasn’t been for Chelsea-type people.
Harry Wilson’s late goal against London rivals Fulham on Boxing Day caused Enzo Maresca’s team to lose.
Chelsea lost 2-0 to Ipswich on Monday night, so they would have liked some late scenes this time, but none materialized. To make matters worse, it was the Tractor Boys’ first home victory of the season.
Maresca is currently going through the first significant difficult period of his reign following rumors that he will win the Premier League title. Perhaps it was commonplace that one of the hosts’ top performers wore Chelsea blue at one point.
Omari Hutchinson’s statistical performance against Chelsea
Omari Hutchinson, a talented attacking midfielder, had a crucial loan stint at Ipswich in the Championship last season.
With 50 games in all competitions, 11 goals, and six assists, he was a significant part of their promotion push.
In a club-record £20 million transfer, Hutchinson left Chelsea and returned to Suffolk because Kieran McKenna wanted him back at Portman Road this season.
It makes sense that he hasn’t had an easy time in the Premier League, but on Monday he showed off against his old employers, maybe putting on one of his best Premier League performances to date.
