A fatal shooting that happened during celebrations following Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Manchester United is being looked into by police in the Kalungu District of Uganda. The incident happened on Wednesday evening at the Afric Restaurant in Lukaya Town Council, Central Uganda, which is housed in the Uganda Cares Building.

Richard Okecho, a private security guard working for Garda World Security Company, is accused of killing the deceased, John Ssenyonga, 30, a carpenter from Juma Cell in Kalungu and a passionate Arsenal supporter. The event also resulted in the injuries of another individual, who was only known as Lawrence.

When Arsenal’s second goal put them ahead of Manchester United 2-0, trouble started. The restaurant management turned off the electricity in an effort to calm the jubilant Arsenal supporters who burst into wild celebrations.

Tensions were heightened by this conduct, which made the crowd more irate. Witness Sadi Jjumba said that Okecho, the security guy, ordered the boisterous fans to stop. Okecho allegedly opened fire after they disregarded his warnings, killing Ssenyonga and wounding another.

After the shooting, Okecho left the area, according to Southern Regional Police Spokesman Twaha Kasirye. However, the firearm and cartridge used in the event were recovered by the police, which should help with the current inquiry. In addition to denouncing the event, Mr. Kasirye asked the public to come forward with any information that would help apprehend Okecho.

The shooting’s reason is still unknown, although there is conjecture .
