Chelsea have chosen to sell Joao Felix to AC Milan on transfer deadline day, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the specifics of the deal, while TEAMtalk can tell that the Blues may be poised to sign Dario Essugo.
Felix had a disastrous loan term at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2023, so it was a great surprise when the Premier League club chose to bring him back to Stamford Bridge on a permanent contract in the summer of 2024, especially given that they paid an initial transfer fee of £42 million for him.
The 25-year-old Portugal international attacker struggled to make an impact at Chelsea throughout the first half of the season. Felix has seven goals and two assists in 20 outings across all competitions for the Blues. He could only make three Premier League starts.
Felix is close to a loan move to AC Milan, according to TEAMtalk’s Fraser Fletcher, and Romano has already said ‘Here we go’ to the deal.
According to the Italian journalist, Milan will sign the Portuguese star on a loan basis and pay a fee.
Romano posted on X: “João Félix to AC Milan, here we go!” Chelsea approved the official bid for a direct loan with no buy option.
