REPORT: Colorado Buffalo fans tags Deion Sanders a better coach than Mike Norvell thus, Buffalo fans mount calls for Norvell’s Replacement

One week into the college football season, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has already become a popular name among fans of a major college football program. Sanders and the Buffaloes opened their 2024 season against an FCS opponent, but not just any lower-division team. While programs like Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Louisville easily defeated their FCS foes by 60+ points, Colorado took on a much tougher challenge in North Dakota State, a multiple-time national champion. The Bison held their own for much of the game, but the Buffaloes ultimately prevailed. After Sanders’ victory and a disastrous start for Florida State, Seminoles fans began to dream of Sanders taking over in 2025.

Florida State is off to a rough start, with their struggles playing out on a national stage. The Seminoles kicked off the season in Week 0 as the first FBS team to play, losing to Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. Returning home for a Labor Day matchup against Boston College, and as the only FBS game on the slate, they suffered another humiliating defeat. Bill O’Brien’s Eagles dominated from start to finish in a 28-13 victory. With another tough loss unfolding, some fans have suggested it’s time for Florida State to part ways with Mike Norvell in favor of Deion Sanders.

Social media buzzed with speculation. One user, named Nelson Mandela, posted on X, “Deion Sanders (when it inevitably implodes at Colorado) and Florida State (once they inevitably get sick of Norvell) are honestly made for each other in 2 years. Think Deion at a legit program and in Florida actually works, and FSU will be desperate enough by then to try.” Another account, Coach Top, simply stated, “Only person can fix Florida State is @DeionSanders.” Rob Wilkins added, “I want to congratulate Deion Sanders on getting the Florida State job next year.” Meanwhile, cOde Orange wondered, “Is it too early for the Deion Sanders to Florida State rumors? Or, is he locked in at Colorado? Asking for a few friends!”

Of course, Sanders is a Florida State alum, having played college football for the Seminoles. If the Florida State job were to become available—though there are currently no indications of that even in a rough 2024 season—it’s hard to imagine Sanders wouldn’t consider making the leap to a larger brand and his alma mater.
