Antony is close to leaving Manchester United following a breakthrough in discussions.

Antony is close to leaving Manchester United on loan.

According to sources, Real Betis are close to agreeing to sign Manchester United winger Antony on loan for the rest of the season.

The Spanish club has selected Antony as their top target for the winter transfer window, and after having an initial proposal rejected, they returned with a second bid earlier this week that was said to be closer to satisfying United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks are now advanced, with Antony expected to spend the rest of the season on loan at Betis. The Brazilian is believed to be eager to revive his career in La Liga and has prioritized Betis’ interest above Greek club Olympiacos.

United will agree to pay a share of Antony’s salaries in an agreement that does not contain the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo was questioned on Saturday about the club’s pursuit of Antony, and while he refused to go into detail, he did confirm his desire to complete a transaction.

“A very attractive player in this market,” said Fajardo to Movistar+. “I don’t have anything to say about his career. Antony remains a Manchester United player.
