The ‘Amazing’ Man Utd Star Under Amorim Astounds Alan Shearer

The brilliance of Manchester United striker Amad Diallo in their 2-1 victory over Manchester City delighted Alan Shearer, who called the Ivorian winger “the standout player” under Ruben Amorim.

At the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the 22-year-old was the main attraction. He won a penalty that allowed United to equalize, and a few seconds later, he scored the game-winning goal.

His efforts caused additional suffering for Man City, who have only won once in their previous 11 games, and helped United recover from two straight Premier League defeats.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer praised Amad profusely and highlighted his development over the first month under Amorim, referring to him as “the standout” performer:

“I thought, ‘Here we go, something ridiculous is going to happen here,’ as soon as Man United grabbed one, but then—I mean, Amad was wonderful, wasn’t he?

“He is an exceptional player who has unquestionably been the most notable player under the new manager.”

Amad has recently had a strong run of games in the Premier League, helping to score at least one goal in five of his last six outings.

The 22-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
