Rose, a former Poole Town defender, signs a long-term contract with AFC Totton.

  1. PRIOR Declan Rose, a defenseman for Poole Town, has signed for AFC Totton in advance of the 2024–2025 Southern League Premier Division South season.

During his three seasons at Poole Town, Rose made 137 appearances and was a key member of the teams that won the Dorset Senior Cups in 2022–2023 and 2021–2022.

Rose is primarily a right-back but can play anywhere in the defense. The 22-year-old chose to sign with AFC Totton despite supposedly receiving a fresh contract offer from Poole Town.

“I had three fantastic seasons at Poole Town, but I felt it was time to move on and take on a new challenge once my contract expired in the summer,” he stated.

I have personally witnessed how much AFC Totton has improved under Jimmy Ball’s leadership.

“Having visited the facility several times as a visiting player, I was aware of its high caliber.

“Totton is a tough, tenacious football team that enjoys playing well and knows how to win games.

Throughout our negotiations regarding this relocation, it became very evident that all of the players and personnel at this club must exhibit an extremely high degree of professionalism.

“Hopefully I can get used to things quickly and do everything in my power to help the team win on the field.”

Jimmy Ball, the manager of AFC Totton, stated: “I’m really happy to bring Declan to the club.” He has a ton of experience in this level and is 22 years old.

“When I saw him play for Yeovil Town for the first time while I was at Forest Green Rovers, I was impressed.” He is a thrilling addition to the team and a superb defender

we are happy that he has committed to a long-term contract with us, and I wanthe will play a significant role in the next stage of this football club’s progression.”
