If the Los Angeles Lakers intend to make another move this season, they must act swiftly as the NBA trade deadline draws near. Following Anthony Davis’ recent remarks, NBA insider Anthony Irwin claims that the team has now turned its attention to recruiting a big man.
Irwin wrote, “According to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Lakers have heard him clearly and intend to add a center before the trade deadline in less than two weeks.” “It’s at the top of their list of priorities, which also includes adding more physicality wherever they can find it, a guard to help with the second unit, and more defensive perimeter toughness.”
The Lakers have some tradeable players and picks left over after parting with D’Angelo Russell, but their available assets are rather restricted. Who can they acquire before the deadline in February, then?
Due to persistent contract disputes, Myles Turner has been believed to be on the trade block in Indiana. Turner, a seasoned big man with a defensive mindset, would be an immediate improvement for the Lakers and have the ability to maximize Anthony Davis’ potential. Naturally, L.A. might not be able to reach the asking amount.
Nikola Vucevic of Chicago is an additional costly choice. A former All-Star with the Magic, the seasoned NBA center would be a fantastic choice for the Lakers .
