Kings Announce De’Aaron Fox’s Injury Prior to Game Against Celtics

De'Aaron Fox was listed on the injury report Friday

One of the Sacramento Kings’ best players is probably going to be sidelined for Friday night’s road game against the Boston Celtics. With a glute injury, De’Aaron Fox was listed on the injury report Friday morning. The Kings are anticipated to be without him. Although Fox was spotted taking part in the Kings’ shootaround earlier in the day, it appears that the standout point guard will not be able to play in Friday’s match. Fox has missed Sacramento’s games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies earlier this week, and this will be his third straight absence. Even though the Kings won their last two games without Fox, it is a major setback.

Fox is having a fantastic season and is perhaps having his greatest one yet. He is shooting 48.6% from the field and 32.1% from three-point range and averaging 26.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game so far this season.

Keon Ellis is expected to stay in the starting lineup since Fox is no longer there. A crucial defensive pillar for a Kings squad in dire need, Ellis has flourished in his new position. Along with Malik Monk, who has been excellent since Doug Christie became head coach, the Kings will also need their other talents, Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan, to step up. The Kings are trying to win six straight games against the Celtics, which will be considerably more difficult now that Fox is out.
