Liverpool ‘forces’ the club to decide on a deal as their stance on the £60 million January transfer ’emerges.’

£60 million January transfer 'emerges.'

Liverpool will be able to expand their team through the transfer market in only one week. With the January window drawing near, there is a lot of conjecture regarding what the Reds might want to do before the season’s second half begins.

With Liverpool leading the Premier League table by four points heading into Christmas, Arne Slot has been having a great debut season as the team’s new head coach. Slot and company will play again on Boxing Day when they welcome Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League.

The battle against the Foxes will be Liverpool’s final home fixture of the calendar year before the January transfer market opens. As the New Year approaches, the whispers about potential incoming recruits rise and that is not expected to change in the days and weeks ahead.

The rumored attempt by Liverpool to recruit Christian Pulisic of AC Milan has been unsuccessful. In recent weeks, the Reds have been speculatively linked to a move for the US international as the January transfer window draws near.

According to Calciomercato, Milan are putting preparations in place to thwart Liverpool from signing Pulisic. According to reports, the Serie A team is planning to extend the contract of the former Chelsea player in order to ward off interest from other clubs, including Liverpool.

The present contract that Pulisic has with Milan is scheduled to expire in 2027, but the Italian powerhouses are apparently able to extend it by an additional year. According to reports, Liverpool would also have to deal with it.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a deal for Brighton star Joao Pedro. The Brazil international may be available for the Reds to sign when the transfer window opens in the new year, according to reports in recent weeks.

According to Football Insider, Pedro is still a target for Liverpool, and the Anfield management is keeping an eye on his Seagulls performances. The report claims that Brighton have set a minimum asking price of £60million for the versatile forward who has scored four goals with three assists so far this season.

When the transfer market begins, it is said that Liverpool is eager to increase their forward alternatives. However, the Reds may have to wait until the summer to move for Pedro, due to Brighton.
