It was bad enough for the Detroit Lions when Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken fibula and tibia in his left leg during Week 6. Since that time, the Lions’ defense’s injury list has expanded almost every week.
A story that Hutchinson may return for the Super Bowl if the team made it there surfaced within hours of his injury, and another one that said the same thing a week later.
From voicemails to videos of him working out in a pool, Hutchinson has consistently provided encouraging updates regarding his recuperation. According to a more recent story, if the Lions make it to the NFC Championship Game, he might make a comeback.
Naturally, those return dates are only relevant if the Lions make a strong playoff run; if not, Hutchinson’s availability will be moot.
Aidan Hutchinson affirms the objective for his comeback to action.
“Good Morning Football” co-host Peter Schrager posted a video of Hutchinson’s visit on the podcast of actor (and Lions fan) Taylor Lautner and his wife (also named Taylor) on Tuesday morning, just before Lautner was set to make an appearance on the show.
I’m on pace to meet my objective of playing in the Super Bowl again,” Hutchinson stated. As a result, whenever I see any of the boys in the Lions facility, I tell them repeatedly, ‘You simply need to get there. And I swear to you, I will return. And I mention that to people. My mother said, “But Aidan, what if you don’t get back?” and “What if you can’t?” during our conversation yesterday.
Recovery from Hutchinson’s injuries takes four to six months. Just than four months after his collapse, Super Bowl LIX will take place in New Orleans on February 9.
Every Wednesday, a new episode of the Lautners’ podcast, “The Squeeze,” is released. According to Lautner, who was on “GMFB,” the complete interview with Hutchinson will be available at that time. It was recorded before to last Sunday’s game. However, the most prominent headline from the discussion will undoubtedly be the exclusive video that went viral Tuesday morning, and Lions supporters now have some positive injury news to focus on.
