Hundreds of Celtic and Rangers fans clashed in Glasgow city centre ahead of the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden park today.
Officers from Police Scotland were seen on the busy thoroughfare attempting to separate both sets of supporters before the kick-off at the national stadium at 3.30pm.
Cop revealed they dealt with a number of incidents with missiles thrown at officers and reports of windows being smashed at a premises in Howard Street.
An officer was spotted swinging and striking fans with a baton on the street as he tried to prevent further escalation of the violence between the two sets of supporters.
A clip shared on social media showed members of the public sheltering inside the HMV store on Argyle Street while Rangers fans, in Santa hats, were spotted running down the road in the direction of Central Station.
Two women attempted to make it out of the store, but supporters running past the entrance forced them back inside. Celtic fans are then seen sprinting down the street chasing the Rangers supporters.
A flare was also lit close to the entrance of the store which forced a HMV employee to close the door in order to protect the safety of shoppers during the busy festive period.
