The Diamondbacks have announced their 2025 coaching staff.

The Diamondbacks’ coaching adjustments include a revamp of the pitching coaches and the replacement of a longtime third base coach by the farm director.At Phoenix’s Chase Field on October 1, 2024, Diamondbacks head coach Torey Lovullo addresses the media the day following the team’s elimination from playoff contention.

 

The 2025 Arizona Diamondbacks coaching staff was revealed. The pitching staff has made the biggest changes, and the third base coach has also undergone a big transformation.

Damion Easley, Joe Mather, Jeff Banister, and Torey Lovullo have all been kept in their respective positions as of 2024. The longest tenure in D-backs history, Lovullo’s ninth season as manager will begin. Currently in their fourth season, Banister will serve as the bench coach, Mather as the hitting coach, and Easley as the assistant hitting coach. The team’s longest-tenured coach, Dave McKay, will remain the outfield and base running coach.

 

The pitching coaching staff has undergone a significant revamp by the Diamondbacks.
The pitching coaching staff saw the biggest changes, with Dan Carlson, Mike Fetters, and Brent Strom all losing their positions. After serving as the pitching coach for the D-backs since 2022, Strom left to join the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dan Carlson, who worked for the company for 23 years, was also asked to leave.

Arizona’s head pitching coach will be Brian Kaplan. He worked for the Philadelphia Phillies for the previous six seasons, first as a performance consultant from 2019 to 2021 and then as the team’s assistant pitching coach and director of pitching from 2022 to 2024.

Longtime farm director is replaced by Tony Perezchica will be replaced as the Diamondbacks’ third base coach and chief infield instructor by Shaun Larkin, who was the farm director in 2024. One of Lovullo’s initial hires, Perezchica had served as the third base coach for the previous eight seasons before joining the Houston Astros.
