Trade talks between the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs appear to be robust and fruitful. The teams reached an agreement this past summer that sent star cornerback L’jarius Sneed to the Titans in exchange for a third-round pick in 2025.
The Chiefs then purchased wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Titans on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in 2025. Each team’s roster was immediately strengthened by both trades.
Sneed is the star defender the Titans needed in their secondary during their rebuild. Hopkins is another addition to the Chiefs that strengthens a badly injured receiving corps.
Hopkins and Sneed shared a locker room for seven months prior to their Wednesday trade. People might have expected them to discuss Hopkins’ new team before he left, considering the relationship they might have developed at the time and the fact that Sneed was from Kansas City.
During their rebuild, the Titans needed a star defender in their secondary, and Sneed is it. Another addition to the Chiefs that helps to bolster a severely wounded receiving corps is Hopkins.
Before their Wednesday trade, Hopkins and Sneed had been sharing a locker room for seven months. Given their potential relationship at the time and the fact that Sneed was from Kansas City, people might have assumed that they would talk about Hopkins’ new team before he left.
