Reports has it that the young traditional ruler is said to be the only son of the late monarch and that he shouldn’t be installed as the traditional ruler because of his age, as manipulation was about to set in.

According to the tradition of the community if a king dies his younger brother is to be crowned as the regent while the king’s heir apparent to the throne will be sent on exile for 90 days to undergo traditional rites, said by a source.

Call to mind that his appointment into the Royal Family as a traditional Ruler was ratified by the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Rotimi Akeredolu led state executive council after an election was conducted by king-makers in the Okelude community area

So, when the late monarch died the family members thought it wise not to crown one of the late monarch’s brother as the regent because he might find it so difficult to relinquish power in the future when the only son of the late monarch comes of age.

But, however, the king-makers of the community took precaution measures in order avert crisis made the first daughter of the late king the regent and this was recorded as the first time in history of Okeluse that such happened, meanwhile the heir to the throne would go into seclusion

According to same source, the obaship titile in okeluse is from father to son. It is always the Oba’s immediate family that exclusively handles over for installation of a new oba
