"Times haven't aligned," says a distraught Plumptre from Nigeria, who will miss the Olympics in Paris in 2024.

Due to an injury, Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre expressed her displeasure at not being selected for Nigeria’s Olympic team in Paris in 2024, according to Soccernet.ng.

Coach Randy Waldrum chose an 18-man roster, but Plumptre, who helped Nigeria qualify for the Olympics by defeating teams like Cape Verde, Cameroon, and South Africa, was not included.

Her absence stems from concerns about her fitness after she was injured in March while playing for her team, Al Ittihad.

Plumptre has not fully recovered from her operation in April, despite putting in a lot of effort to get well in time for the Olympics.

Plumptre additionally conveyed her excitement and satisfaction for her teammates by adding,

In preparation for the Olympics, the Super Falcons arrived in Sevilla, Spain, on Friday. They are competing against Brazil, Spain, and Japan in Group C.
