According to sources, Manchester United has received a ‘increased bid’ for winger Alejandro Garnacho, amid interest from Chelsea.
The Red Devils are trying to sell expensive assets to earn finances for their rebuild, and Garnacho is one of the players they are considering offers for.
The 20-year-old rose through the ranks at Manchester United after joining the Premier League giants from Atletico Madrid, making him a clear profit sale.
Several European clubs have been linked with Garnacho, who has been in and out of the team since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at the end of last year.
There are concerns about Garnacho’s ability to adapt into Amorim’s favored 3-4-3 system, and they would probably be better off moving him than fellow academy product Kobbie Maino.
Antonio Conte’s side has reportedly ‘raised their offer’ for Garnacho from 40 million euros to 55 million euros, although Manchester United is still demanding approximately 70 million euros.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will lower their asking price, but Garnacho has apparently signed a’verbal agreement’ with Napoli for a five-year contract and a salary of approximately three million euros.
Italian journalist Francesco Modugno has slammed Manchester United over their demands, claiming Garnacho “wouldn’t be a starter” for Napoli.
“Garnacho is at the top of Napoli’s list, but if he were to land in Campania he wouldn’t be a starter,” Modugno reported.
“No new signing would come to Naples as a starter. Manchester United is requesting €70 million for Garnacho? For the Campania club, he is valued almost half that.
