Brief History of INEC Prior to Online Registration

Inec 2023 ad-hoc Staff Recruitment: The now known Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was established by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the sole aim of organizing elections into various political offices in the country. The office targeted functions is contained in Section 15, Part 1 of the Third Schedule of the 1999 Constitution (As Amended) and Section 2 of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) all are the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria

What is the Voting Procedure?

While at the polling unit, you are expected to join the queue. During this process a designated INEC official will check if you are at the correct polling unit and confirm that the PVC presented belongs to you.

They will also have to confirm using the card reader if your PVC is genuine.  After which you will be directed to place your finger on the card reader in order to capture your thumb print then your name will be marked good and ink will be put in your finger to confirm you have voted. Note:If your name is not found as been eligible to vote you will not be permitted to vote.

Then you will have to meet the Presiding officer  who will stamp, sign and endorse your ballot paper showing to are qualified to cast your vote, a ballot paper rolled with the printed side inwards  will be handed over to you and you will be directed to the voting cubicle.

While at the voting cubicle stain your finger with the ink given and mark the box for your preferred candidate/party, roll the ballot paper in the manner you were given and flatten it while casting your vote.

Then you can go home or hang out with friends and wait till when the winner for your polling unit or the general election conducted will be announced

Take Note of this: In the 2023 inec online registration, If a voter is living with a disabled person he/she should be assisted to cast vote in the polling unit by a person chosen by him/her, other than a poll agent. Also, Assistive Tactile facilities shall be used for visually impaired voters.

What are the Offenses Punishable in Election Day?

Criteria’s for been Eligible to Vote during the 2023 General Elections 

In order to be eligible to participate on the General Election Day, Voters must possess the following:

  • He/She must be a Nigerian citizen.
  • He/She must be 18 years and above.
  • He/She must possess a Permanent Voter Card (PVC)
  • He/She must be in the Register of Voters where he/she is assigned to vote

NOTE: Voters who do not possess a registered PVC will not be accredited and, consequently, will not be allowed to cast his or her vote

Note: All applicants are encouraged to fill the registration forms online as specified. The MOBILE APP(for andriod phone user), WEB PORTAL (for individuals using cybercafe, laptops/PCs) in order to be eligible for consideration as an ad-hoc staff come  2023 general elections

INEC ONLINE RECRUITMENT OF AD-HOC STAFF VIA THE INEC PORTAL FOR RECRUITMENT OF ELECTIONS STAFF (INECPRES) FOR THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS AREA COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2022

In regards to the above, The Commission has approved the use of INECPRES and its reactivation for interested Applicants who wishes to serve as ad-hoc staff for the 2023 general elections.

Consequent upon the above mentioned, the commission has directed that all interested applicants with the exception of collation/Recruiting officers must register on the INECPRES to be eligible for selection and deployment as an ad-hoc staff in the coming 2023 general elections.

The INECPRES is specifically for registration of ad-hoc staff (Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs)/ Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs) and RAC Managers for the 2023 general elections.

Launch period of the INECPRES opens on Wednesday 14th September by 8:00 am and shall close on Wednesday 14th December 2022 by 8:00 pm for the INEC online registration

Applicants have a maximum time range of four (4) months to undertake all necessary procedures required in tendering their application before the closure of the site for the Inec online registration.
