Job Profile

The Human Centered Design and Adaptation Specialist shall be highly charged with the duty of leading in the advocacy for needs of people that are impacted by the programme and development of user-centred solutions for a variety of communication and behavioural challenges which might meet their needs.

The HCDA Specialist shall provide proper and adequate mentorship to the programme team teaching them the necessary processes on how to apply HCD principles to real-world scenarios.

Job Role

As a Human Centered Design and Adaptation Specialist you are to lead the multi-organisational team through the Human Centred Design (HCD) processes.

Shall ensure the adequate development of practical solutions and tools to support programme goal

Must have a high intelligent in coordinating development of assets and SBCC materials project

Must also lead on knowledge sharing and management of the HCD processes

Shall be in charge/lead in the planning for field research visits, including strategy development

Qualifications / Experience

Applicant for the role as a Human Centered Design and Adaptation must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Communications and Marketing, or related degree

Role Holder must also be a clear and consistent communicator, being able to translate complex programmatic information into user-friendly guidance.

Must be a well trained expert in knowledge products, including technical publications, webinars, abstracts, and tools development.

All Human Centered Design and Adaptation applicants must have a minimum of 8 years’ professional experience

Must also possess required experience with two (2) or more years in the following areas: human centred design/design thinking, youth and gender, reproductive health, qualitative research.
